Site Under ConstructionHome of Peninsula Dance Theatre
Each student receives the utmost attention in class and an opportunity to advance through dedication and cooperation. It is the philosophy of Bremerton Dance Center to instill in each student a sense of discipline, physical prowess, and ballet artistry, which they will carry forward throughout their lives, whether or not a future dance career is planned. This philosophy allows BDC to provide the care and attention that each dancer deserves by creating opportunities to participate in recitals, full-length ballets, collaboration with Peninsula Dance Theatre (PDT), and other community programs. Our ClassesChildren’s DivisionThe Children’s Program is based on graded curriculum applying appropriate instruction for age and physical development of the student. A once-per-week class of Pre-Ballet prepares students for classical ballet training by exploring music, rhythm and movement (Ages 3 and up). Students learn the basics of dance, beginning tap, and tumbling. Ballet Levels I-II-III, starting at age 7 and up, introduces students to classical ballet. Beginning tap corresponds to the above ballet levels and basic tap up through the Rhythm Time Step. Student/Professional DivisionLevels III-IV offer students the opportunity to develop their dance technique. In addition to these classes students are encouraged to enroll in Pointe, Jazz, Modern, and Tap to compliment their overall training. Students who wish to pursue a higher level of technique are encouraged to enroll in two to three ballet classes. Students may enroll in Pointe at age eleven provided they meet the physical requirements. Pas deux experience is offered to levels VI students and Company Members. Teen/Adult ProgramThe Teen and Adult Program at Bremerton Dance Center is designed for the student who wishes to pursue dance for personal expression, health, recreation, or as an avocation providing a social outlet. The school provides a varied curriculum while maintaining superior quality of instruction sufficient for the continuing dancer. Students may enroll according to interest and ability. Classes include levels of Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap and Hip Hop. New Classes Available Bremerton Dance is now offering Mommy and Me and Boot Camp Diva. Mommy and Me is a great introduction to ballet with the comfort of mommy, daddy, or caretaker present. Mommy and Me offers an environment that will enhance early creative movement, develop coordination, play with music and rhythms, counting and timing, and self-confidence. Boot-Camp Diva, a women's only fitness group, is now at Bremerton Dance Center! Limit Space is available. This program works better than a gym membership or fad diets. Just one hour three times a week and you'll be hooked. Please contact (253) 389-2319 for more information.
